Bruce Mills, 3W Joint CEO Bruce Mills is well known in the Queensland IT industry.
He started his IT career in 1987 as an ICL COBOL programmer. His love for technology, combined with his ability to relate complex IT concepts to audiences with a wide range of technical ability, meant that he quickly moved into the area of client support and training.
In 1995 he entered the IT recruitment market, joining Computer People in Brisbane as an account manager.
Bruce is best known for his role as Queensland and New South Wales Branch Manager of IGATE (formerly Mastech) for seven years, from 1997 until January 2004. He was responsible for taking the organisation from a small permanent placement company to one of Queensland’s leading and best-known brands in IT contracting.
When Bruce joined the business in 1997, it was a privately owned family company known as Asia Pacific Computer Consultants, with offices in New South Wales and Queensland. At that time the company had only 22 billable IT consultants in Queensland. In his first six months in this role, he increased this number to more than 66. In October 1997, the company was purchased by Mastech Corporation, a NASDAQ listed company. In his last year with the company (2003), Bruce managed both the Queensland and New South Wales offices of Mastech. After his first six months and for the rest of his time with the company, it consistently retained between 60 and 100 billing consultants in Queensland.
In 2004, Mr Mills established Integrated Technology Investments; a privately owned ITC focused venture capital company providing management expertise and funding for ICT related start up companies. Since its inception ITI has established such businesses as 3W, Redcliffe Computer Support, Pine Rivers Computer Support, Australian Wireless Security Services, Caboolture Computer Support, CBD Computer Support and GP Central.
Mr Mills joined Acumen Alliance in November 2005 as Director of Acumen Alliance QLD and is responsible for the branding and marketing of Acumen Alliance in Queensland.
